Me

I am fascinated by how animals, plants, and people interact, and I want to use science and storytelling to help protect the species and ecosystems we depend on. My curiosity is especially drawn to the ways human decisions shape wildlife habitats and how thoughtful conservation can support both biodiversity and communities.

 

As a Latina in STEM, community and representation are central to my values. I care deeply about equity in conservation and about making scientific spaces more accessible and welcoming to students from diverse backgrounds. My long-term goal is to work in international wildlife conservation, using field research, quantitative tools, and clear communication to support evidence-based decisions that benefit both biodiversity and local communities.

 

Outside of the classroom and the field, I enjoy photographing wildlife, exploring new trails, and sharing my love for nature with friends and family who may not see themselves as “outdoorsy” (yet). I also love learning languages, such as Spanish and Italian, and connecting with people from different cultures, which strengthens my interest in global conservation work and helps me imagine collaboration across borders.​
